At Simon Smith Music, we take online security very seriously. So seriously that none of our customers have ever reported fraudulent use of a credit or debit card as a result of purchases made with us.
Our secure transaction system uses the Stripe payment system.
Providing your bank account information to Stripe is a trusted practice. Stripe uses security measures like encryption and complies with PCI DSS Level 1, the highest standard in the industry to protect its customers’ data.
Stripe is considered to be a safe service, which complies fully with Payment Card Industry Data Security Standards (PCI DSS).
Stripe is classed as a Level 1 PCI DSS provider, which means it’s subject to the most rigorous controls, checks and supervision by the industry regulator, to make sure it works within legal guidelines and following best practices. This means that Stripe – like other major payment services – must follow strict rules on how they receive and store sensitive financial data securely.
In addition, you know that your session is in a secure encrypted environment when you see https:// in the web address, and/or when you see the locked padlock symbol alongside the URL. So when buying through our site, you can be sure that you are completely protected.
6. Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014
This legislation offers you the following cancellation rights when you buy online or by phone:
You are entitled to cancel your contract if you so wish, provided that you exercise your right no longer than 14 days after the day on which you receive the goods.
Your right to return or cancel products does not apply to goods that have been clearly personalised or which by reason of their nature cannot be returned or are liable to deteriorate or expire rapidly. This doesn’t affect your statutory rights if goods are faulty or not as described.
If you wish to exercise your right of cancellation, you are obliged to retain possession of the goods and take reasonable care of them.
To exercise the right to cancel, you must inform us of your decision to cancel your contract by a clear statement, including details of your name, geographical address, details of the order you wish to cancel and, where available, your phone number and email address.
You can cancel by emailing simon@simonsmithmusic.com
If you decide to cancel, you should return the goods to us at your cost within 14 days of such cancellation, and we will reimburse to you (by the method used to pay for the original transaction) the amount in relation to goods to which cancellation rights apply. This includes any contribution made by you to the cost of delivery.
We may make a deduction from the reimbursement for loss in value of any goods supplied, if the loss is the result of unnecessary handling by you, damaged packaging or soiling. We will make the reimbursement no later than 14 days after the day we receive back from you any goods supplied.
7. Returns
You can return a product for a full refund or exchange within 28 days of receipt. The returns process is simple. All you need to do is fill out the Return/Exchange form that was included with your order. On that form, it has our return address and instructions. The item(s) must be returned in a new and unused condition along with its packaging, original labels, a copy of the original receipt and the return/exchange form filled in describing the reason for return. We do not cover the cost of return postage. We recommend sending it back to us via a Royal Mail Tracked service (usually an orange label) to guarantee safe delivery, they should also supply you with a tracking receipt. Please note that it is not necessary to pay for a ‘Signed for’ service, but tracking is highly recommended. Please note we will only refund the original card used, Simon Smith Music does not provide cash refunds unless you purchased by cash in person.
8. Guarantees
Unless stated otherwise, all items sold by Simon Smith Music come with a twelve (12) month manufacturer warranty from the date of the original purchase. Where an item comes with a Lifetime Warranty it is for the lifetime of the item, not the owner or user. This guarantee covers defective material, workmanship and/or parts. It does not cover faults caused by normal wear or tear, inappropriate usage of the item(s), accidental damage, neglect, or misuse. To return an item under warranty, please return the item along with a copy of the original purchase receipt and a description of the fault to the address below. For health and safety reasons, please ensure that the item is returned to us clean and free from dirt.
